We live outside ourselves, we project our minds and communicate over vast distances. We have entered the Post-Human age, and in time it will lead to our biological demise. After a long period of slow starvation and the deliberate poisoning of the environment, this race will be made an offer they cannot refuse.
Those who accept their fate will be granted immortality, omniscience and omnipresence, much like a god amongst gods. The remainder will slowly devolve into something less, instinctively more compliant, and lacking all personal reason. Most likely, the elites will place a price on their deal, and one far beyond the reach of most people. It’s not that the elites need the money, they can conjure up more whenever they like. It’s to keep down the numbers by sorting the wheat from the chaff. The successful truly believe in the system. Whilst those who fall by the wayside are seen as a waste of vital resources.
We’ve had a sneak preview of what’s to come, with the lockdown there was no traffic, the environment began to recover, the skies cleared of chemtrails and the wildlife thrived. But my main point is the streets were empty, the cities felt like graveyards, and for a while, many experienced the eerie feeling of a less populated world.
Soft Martial Law
Soft martial law is on the horizon, everywhere you go you are served by a pair of eyes and a mask, the police have had a taste of power, and governments around the world are rubbing their hands with anticipation. They can’t wait to see their plans unfold, after centuries of tireless dedication to the cause, those who wield influence are guaranteed a place in the New Nirvana. A world of light, filled with unlimited choice, where the faithful to the core can exist without fear of sickness or death.
What begins as social convention soon becomes a necessity, and eventually a legal requirement for everybody in society. A solemn vow to remain connected and accessible at all times will overshadow any notions of human rights.
Flies in the Web
When the internet was in its infancy, most businesses continued on as usual in the real world. Asides from email, few companies took it seriously, maintaining very little presence online. But now, the situation has reversed, and the giants of Silicon Valley tower over almost every corporation in the world.
What the elites say is what we do, and when we say something they don’t like, they silence us. By shadow-banning undesirables the digital autocracy strips them of all social influence, algorithmically skewing results against their favour. Whilst those who go with the program, taking their cues from social media, the influencers who are given carte blanche across a spectrum of platforms are rewarded beyond their expectations. For despite the political sentiment for social cohesion, there are only two camps, rule givers and rule takers. With more legal restrictions every day and corporate bias on every platform, the Wild West of the internet is truly over, and now the web is slowly but surely corralling the population into a virtual rehabilitation camp.
Pavlov might be turning in his grave or he may be pleased as punch, depending on his point of view. For we, the dogs that were once human beings, hang in apoplexy, trapped within the base instinct of fight or flight. We read by gaslight, absorbing the accepted truth, lost in a subjective fog of propaganda, and guided by political imperative and cultural coercion. Instead of life, we stare at false light, absorbed in the convolutions of other people’s lives, and slowly lose ourselves to the hive-mind.
Yet now and forever, there are those like myself who either refuse or are unable to adapt. We will stay here, in the real world and watch it rot before our eyes. We, the outsiders, think with our hearts and feel with our minds, the lucid beings who hold no fear of our inevitable oblivion.
There is no tangible reward for dissent only punishment and dark truths. I, like many, am preparing for the rise of an even greater tyranny. For we understand, we’ve lived here many times, watching as one civilisation falls and another rises. Yet this time it’s different. It’s as if the whole world’s been infected, a contagious Narcissus complex seeping through society.
But what most believe is their indomitable identity has been supplanted by a corporate avatar, a shadow of their former self, s straw man of image and personality corrupted by a need for common consensus and simplicity. This race is regressing towards childhood, fostering a submissive mentality that cannot survive without the authority of the State.
Few will notice or even care when the handover is complete. Some will complain, but few will see the bigger picture. It’s a long and tedious systematic downgrading of the human race. Even the elites have no idea what awaits them, or how little of them will remain when they achieve artificial immortality. They will be ghosts, spectres hovering in a field of data, slowly losing their sense of identity as they cluster together and become one hive-mind.
The Age of Cold Fire
The Age of Blood is coming to an end, and the Age of Cold Fire is almost with us, and however pure the light, no matter what advances we might make, it will surely burn away humanity and leave our history in flames.
What rises from the ashes I cannot tell you, for I and you will not be here, only the faithful slaves of fear and death, who have traded their souls for the promise of synthetic heaven. Pity them and not us, for Earth, is a prison, and our term here is short. Whilst they who believe they have the world at their fingertips are doomed to remain here until the end of time.
